Dear Sir/Madam,
We kindly ask you to excuse our child for the delay in writing the Amiga game reviews that were promised. Unfortunately, he has been exposed to a computer virus called “Emerald Mine” which has completely paralysed him. This programme presents itself as a video game and causes serious symptoms in him such as a total inability to leave his computer, compulsive finger movements on the joystick, and an obsession with collecting virtual diamonds.
We have attempted to solve the problem by unplugging the machine, but this triggered an episode of trembling during which he began frantically repeating “yamyamyamyam”, like the voracious creatures that populate this cursed game. His doctor has assured us that this is a temporary condition which should resolve once he has completed the final level.
