You’re a mutant robotic insect at war with other mutant robotic insects.
The dullness of the levels doesn’t spare us from exasperating loading times (remember to press the joystick button when a black screen appears). The enemy choreography consists of moving back and forth over a few centimetres or jumping in place. Ammunition is limited. It’s common to get stuck by the scenery due to the one-way scrolling. The only originality: the ability to walk on the ceiling. Not enough to make this lethargic shooter memorable. Try instead Metal Storm (NES, 1991).
Culture note: Venus flytrap is the English name for the Dionaea muscipula, a carnivorous plant that inspired a well-known monster in Super Mario Bros 3.
And for the smartasses who counted just four legs, remember my insect’s a mutant, alright?
