Ku-Kabul, an alien spaceship captain, has been sent on a mission to planet Ixion to prove his worth before earning a promotion to officer. It’s a survival test assessing his combat skills and “infiltration” abilities (picking up items and using them in the right spots to unlock doors). He’s equipped with rockets for brief flights and machine guns. That’s it for the entire game, which left me feeling a bit underwhelmed…
Ork bears all the hallmarks of a Psygnosis title: a stunning intro soundtrack, breathtaking Shadow of the Beast-style multi-layered scrolling backgrounds, but also clunky controls and gameplay that’s as repetitive as it is dull.
