The screenshots come from the CD32 version (1994).
It’s an advanced remake of Thrust, released in 1986 on BBC Micro, Commodore 64, and most consoles of the time. You piloted a shuttle on the surface of a hostile planet, controlling propulsion and rotation. Movement had to be done very carefully, as, on top of turret fire, you were also up against gravity and significant inertia.
In Fly Harder, your mission is to tow “energy spheres” and throw them onto a reactor to deactivate the planet’s security systems, allowing your mothership (“Irata”, doesn’t ring a bell?) to refuel.
Far too difficult and frustrating for me.
