Wizardry is one of the oldest role-playing game series (it was born in 1981 on Apple II). This is the sixth instalment (the only one available on Amiga). It was directly adapted from the PC version, which explains the somewhat faded colours.
You can control up to six characters of any race and class, with a first-person view. The battles are turn-based, and you’re responsible for drawing maps on paper, or you’ll be sure to get lost.
Its austere nature and complexity make it more suitable for seasoned RPG fans.
In 2013, a MMORPG called Wizardry Online was released. The obligatory remake of the first episode arrived in 2024: Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord (visually generic, overpriced, and buggy, as always).
