A football game. I think the aim is to send the ball into one of the white rectangles, located at the top and bottom.
It features 32 European international teams (plus 64 clubs in version 1.1) with the real names of players from the time. You can customise everything: the teams, the players, the kits, the cups, and the leagues.
The controls are, according to popular opinion, intuitive and flawless, apparently… Me? The best I can manage is scoring an own goal; and even then, I have to actually manage to touch the ball. Football games … a great mystery…
Sensible Soccer paved the way for its well-known sequel: Sensible World of Soccer and also for parodies (Unsensible Soccer, Sensible World of Moon Soccer, Cannon Soccer).
(*) I don’t have the space to list it in the table, but you can organise tournaments with up to twenty players, and get publicly humiliated!
