The smoothest, most realistic arcade game for ice skating enthusiasts.

Oops, my bad. Scratch “realistic”.

It’s amusing to see the wildly varied scores this game got in gaming magazines, ranging from 22/100 to 93/100, with almost every number in between. Some reviewers praised its graphics and smooth animations, while others cursed its tricky controls. The real issue, fittingly enough, is the lack of grip. The centrifugal force pulling the bike outward on turns is far more pronounced than usual, forcing you to downshift for every corner. As a result, the feeling of traction is completely absent.

Personally, I got used to it (but not before switching to automatic gears), and my biggest frustration quickly became those signs that stick out onto the track…

The game gives you five bikes to choose from, though I didn’t notice any differences beyond their appearance.
Other than that, all the races feel the same, and the opponents behave like ghosts (utterly devoid of the “personality” you might expect from a 1993 release), so I got bored fast.

“GG, on your bike!” as the man says.
