Here’s the ancestor of the Sims! Little Computer People is basically a screensaver, letting you observe one of the “little persons” living inside your Amiga (and before it, Commodore 64).
You can interact with it as follows:
CTRL-A (alarm clock): make the alarm ring. CTRL-B (book): drop a book in front of its door. CTRL-C (call): make the phone ring. CTRL-D (dog): deliver dog food. CTRL-F (food): deliver food. CTRL-P (pet): give a massage. CTRL-R (record): deliver a record. CTRL-W (water): fill the water tank.
Some phrases also make it react:
“Please play the piano.” “Please build a fire.” “Please play a game.” “Please type a letter.”
I’d be curious to know if there are more…
It seems that if you don’t pay enough attention to your little inhabitant, it eventually gets sick and dies. I never had the patience to check.
Where to download it?
On emulator, I came across two versions, one with the interactions and one without. To be sure you get the interactions, choose the following disk: Little Computer People (1986)(Activision)[a2] on Planet Emulation. Under WinUAE, in the Quickstart tab, select “A500 1.3 ROM, OCS Agnus, 512 KB Chip RAM”. Wait two minutes after entering your name, date, and time (two real minutes).
