Oh, the amateur game! But let’s stay positive: there’s no time limit! And the music is quite nice (even if you don’t get any sound effects).

Aside from that, all the flaws that can drive you mad in a platformer are present: blind leaps of faith, invincible enemies, questionable “collision” detection, moving platforms that drop you if you don’t walk in the same direction they’re moving. Worse still, your character dies from a fall of just a few feet!

Nevertheless, the five (gigantic) worlds are stuffed with little “puzzles” involving doors, levers, trampolines, conveyor belts, fans, and the like. Despite the naive execution, there’s a real effort to build and refresh the levels (the last one, which dives into a psychedelic frenzy, is definitely worth checking out). There’s a personality to the game that’s often lacking elsewhere (how’s it going, Zool?).

I think your enjoyment will heavily depend on whether or not you played it in your youth.

An “enhanced” version (“AGA remix”) was released in 1993. It adds (even) more background colours and the ability to choose levels and the number of lives (unlimited if you prefer). However, the intro and outro animations were cut to fit the game onto a single disk.
