Wily, pardoned, helps in the construction of a peaceful robot named Gamma. The only problem is that eight robots have stolen parts of it. So, Mega Man, accompanied by Rush, his robot dog, is sent to retrieve them. He’ll then have to destroy Wily’s old robots (from the second game) because, surprise, Wily has betrayed them once again!

In the end, everything will be put right, Mega Man will even reunite with his missing brother: Proto Man (also known as Blues), and of course, Wily will have found yet another way to escape (you’ll need to get used to this).

For many, Mega Man 3 remains the best episode in the series—perhaps its relatively moderate difficulty makes it more accessible to a wider audience.

Note that Rush and Proto Man make their debut, Mega Man can now slide, but he still can’t “charge” his weapon.
