The life of an ant colony in the Fontainebleau forest and its first encounters with humans…
The first novel is brilliant, the theme is original, you get attached to these little creatures, and with every page you think, “But damn, this should be made into a strategy game!” (They did it!)
Of course, you learn a lot about ants, but it’s presented in a subtle way, never slipping into a documentary style.
The second, and especially the third book, however, descend into rather hard-to-swallow esoteric or even ideological ramblings. The author really lets loose; no longer content with just telling a story, he proceeds to hammer us with his hippie moral wrapped in sugary nonsense.
The peaceful revolution … go ahead, try that at home!
