In this parody of the fantasy novel (The Lord of the Rings among others), we follow the adventures of Rincewind, a failed wizard, who serves as a guide to a tourist named Twoflower. They will travel across Discworld (their planet is flat, supported by four giant elephants, who themselves are perched on the back of a turtle…) and encounter all sorts of wacky characters.

This was the first book I read in English (a real mistake, by the way).
The satire, the English humour, I completely missed it.
Maybe I’ll give it a second chance someday…
