Miscellaneous links

Cinema and music:

Nanarland
Audio and video clips of the finest cinematic disasters. A site that’s truly aware.

Movie mistakes
A site that lists inconsistencies, continuity errors and other blunders in our favourite films. In French: Erreurs de films.

Art and literature:

Les mots délicieusement surannés
A vast collection of antiquated French expressions.

Zanorg
The creations of Kek, the author of “Virginie, une histoire qui sent la colle Cléopâtre”, which I encourage you to read on his site.

Checkpoint
An online shop offering humorous T-shirts inspired by retro games and geek films. I’m very proud of my deadpoule T-shirt.

The Tree of Possibilities
A scientifico-meta-philosophical site conceived by Bernard Werber (author of the novel Les Fourmis) that maps the probable futures of humanity. Well thought-out, original, and interesting, though the pretentious tone can be grating.

Pixel Joint
Pixel-based art!

Sprite Stitch
Embroidery, paintings, clothing, and other creations themed around video games.

Games and game parodies:

Donjon de Naheulbeuk
A hilarious MP3 story parodying role-playing games.

Plus tard…
This time, a parody of MMORPGs.

Nainwak
A sort of online multiplayer game with garden gnomes.

Akinator
By asking you around twenty questions, the Grand Mage Akinator will attempt to guess the character you’re thinking of. The photograph of this character will then appear before your astonished eyes!

YouTube channels:

G Milgram
Humorously exposes online scams, unfounded beliefs, and cultish excesses. An absolutely brilliant channel that serves the public good. However, its sponsorship by a VPN brand doesn’t sit right with me.

Hygiène Mentale
Discusses critical thinking with a calm and considerate tone. Also of great public benefit.

Le Fossoyeur de films
An old channel—he’s done plenty more since, but the original series still makes me laugh. It’s all about Z-movies.

Slexno
Slexno is a special effects enthusiast with infectious good humour. A must-watch!

Inaman Decovery
This one focuses on old cartoons and childhood TV programmes (Fist of the North Star, X-Or, Cobra…). Well-researched and told with passion, plus just the right amount of tongue-in-cheek humour.

Science Étonnante
I understand none of it but never miss an episode. High-quality scientific outreach.

Les Chevaliers du Zodiaque, La série Abrégée
A very old amateur parody that still makes me laugh. Sorry!

Les Kassos
Click, and you’ll quickly know what it’s all about. Keep the children away first. Also, the grandparents. I must say I really don’t like seasons 4 and 5 (and the ones after that), which go overboard with violence and vulgarity, but the humour is gone.

The Guild
An old parody series (semi-professional) about MMORPGs and their players.

Death Battle
Death matches between video game characters, comics, animes … of uneven quality, but some are worth watching (Omni-Man vs Homelander, One-Punch Man vs Popeye, Obi-Wan vs Kakashi).

Scamboli Reviews
Humorous and passionate reviews of Japanese anime (mostly recent).

DragonBall Z Abridged
A parody “abridged” version of Dragon Ball Z. The production quality has improved over the episodes. I suggest not stopping with the first ones.

Hellsing Ultimate Abridged
The same team took on Hellsing Ultimate. I found the original anime quite pretentious. This version is a blessing, if I may say so.

Rubbish:

Francocube
Go fetch your old Rubik’s Cube from the basement. It’s about to get some love!

Sous le catcheur
The venerable HTML guide that taught me everything (twenty years ago), plus funny articles about anything and everything.

Psi
Courses on flirting, rambling, and other essential things.

Trou du Culz Hideout
Become a real Cyber-Asshole too.

DansTonChat
Formerly BashFR, the French version of the famous chatroom bloopers. Hilarious!

L’affaire Goldorak
Here’s the investigation of the century (last century): why does Actarus make two consecutive half-turns when moving from the saucer to Goldorak’s head? To this day, several hundred hypotheses have been recorded.

Bescherelle ta mère
Spelling mistakes in pictures, on TV, in newspapers, on posters, in textbooks…

Ian’s Shoelace Site
Did you know there are 2 trillion ways to thread a shoelace through 12 eyelets? This site presents a few of them.

Koreus
Videos of people falling over, animals getting creatively humiliated, and trucks losing wheels on the highway…

Rathergood.com
Tradition has it that everything ends in music. I’ve chosen this. (Well, like everything else, it was better before…)
