From a historical point of view, Street Fighter (arcade, 1987) is the first entry in one of the most popular fighting game series. Though basic—lacking special moves and only offering two mandatory playable characters (Player 1: Ryu, Player 2: Ken)—it was successful enough to spawn a sequel (the famous Street Fighter 2) that would launch the franchise into the stratosphere.

But while the original didn’t exactly knock our jaws to the floor, this Amiga version is nothing short of an abomination! You really have to see it in action to understand:
arcade version versus Amiga version (sped up!).

An excruciating slowness, no special moves, no difficulty, no sound effects. The only thing they bothered to get right was the backgrounds. In this way, they managed to sell their turd to anyone who glanced at the images on the back of the box. We’ve all been duped at least once, haven’t we?
