Take a mix of American football and hockey. On the field, two teams of four armoured movers fight over a steel ball that they must send by hand into the opposing goal. Anything goes, including corruption.
The film Rollerball (1975), itself adapted from a short story, strangely brings to mind Speedball.
The game was released on Atari ST the same year, and later adapted for Commodore 64 (1989), Sega Master System (1991), and NES (1991). On Nintendo’s console, the name was changed to Klash Ball.
