A fan-club clone of Boulder Dash, this one suffers from lacklustre graphics, clunky controls, and punishing difficulty. Here, enemies can be destroyed by diamonds—sorry, emeralds—and some walls may materialise in certain spots after digging a tunnel.

The game features five sets of twenty levels (including four bonus ones), which can be selected at the start by wiggling the joystick left and right (up and down to change the number of players).

If the decidedly outdated game engine doesn’t win you over, don’t despair: the same levels were ported into Emerald Mine 14, allowing you to enjoy prettier visuals and, most importantly, tolerable controls—exactly like Boulderdash C64.
