An excellent surprise this little action-packed game with a manga style. Beyond the Ice Palace as it should have been! It’s a pleasure to see something fast and manageable on the Amiga for once.

The constant respawning of enemies might not appeal to everyone, but as a Mega Man fanatic, I won’t hold it against the game. You’ll also notice some unique touches: coins dropped by monsters to collect for new weapons, and bonuses with negative effects (flipped screen, teleportation back to the start of the level…).

On the other hand, the time limit, the lack of a password system, and the absence of a red robot dog with a spring grafted onto its back … such deplorable bad taste!

The Sega Genesis version, released the same year, features numerous changes that make the game a bit easier. I prefer the Amiga version.

And on arcade, try Rygar (1986), Black Tiger (1987), and Magic Sword (1990).
