An all-too-familiar pinball simulation, at first glance similar to Pinball Dreams and its sequels, but unfortunately distinguished by a very noticeable heaviness in the control of the ball. Most of my attempts end in just a few seconds, and when the ball doesn’t immediately fall straight down between the flippers, I have an impossible time getting it back to the upper section.
On that note, it’s possible to change the slope of the playfield, and thus the speed at which the ball falls, by pressing “F5” during the table selection, then “F4”. This makes the game less difficult, but gives the unpleasant feeling of playing under reduced gravity…
As usual, there are four themes: one from the developer Spidersoft (Tarantula), one about prison (Jailbreak), one about football (Kick-Off), and one about casinos (Jackpot).
This game was re-released on PC in an enhanced 3D version, featuring additional tables and a new physics engine, under the title Pinball Mania Plus.
