The video game adaptation of the famous toy brand. It’s a wild racing game, featuring miniature vehicles (motorboats, cars and even helicopters or tanks). The circuits seem built by children, drawn with chalk on a desk, amidst notebooks and overturned inkwells; on the kitchen table, where the track outlines are made of famous honey-puffed cereals; in a foam-filled bathtub, between shampoo bottles and rubber ducks…
One might regret that the game hasn’t really evolved since the 1991 NES version. They’ve even removed the parallax scrolling, the perspective effect that allowed better differentiation between the playing surface (table, desk) and the floor below.
Numerous sequels followed on consoles (the latest ones in 3D). On PC, I recommend Re-Volt (1999).
