It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out why my shots weren’t affecting the enemies. Turns out—they’re seeds!
So, you throw seeds, which grow into mushrooms, which then transform into crystals for you to collect. There are only two types of enemies: those with a sack steal your crystals, while the others seem to just exist without much purpose. You take them out by hammering them (joystick down).
After every two stages, you’re presented with a shop to buy various power-ups. However, it’s not clear which ones are reusable, temporary, or permanent. An article mentions a spell-casting wizard, another talks about an enemy that alters the terrain (turning dirt into stone, presumably), and yet another references treasure chests—but I saw none of these in the game. No noticeable progression after the first stage, apart from a background change.
Is this a demo version? Or was the game just left unfinished? No, surely no one would release something this blatantly incomplete for sale … right?
Cough-cough! Could you fetch me a glass of water?
