You dreamed it, they did it: a 3D pinball game, view centred on the ball! So bizarre and pointless that I immediately rushed to try it.
Curiously, it’s not the 3D representation that’s the issue. It doesn’t add anything, and it’s impossible to control anything, but you can, to some extent, appreciate the programmer’s whimsy.
What’s left is this tiny pinball table on the left half of the screen, with a completely schlass ball, defying the laws of physics by sometimes bouncing for several minutes without any player intervention…
Note: Some versions don’t seem to work. One that does: on Planet Emulation, under the “Compilations” section, “First Person Pinball & Boulder Dash Construction Kit (1989)(-)” (type “x 1” without the quotes to start the game).
