The greatest arcade classics often result in monstrous failures on the Amiga. Double Dragon is no exception.
However, I encourage you to experience the original version via the MAME emulator.
For the three souls who have never heard of it, Double Dragon is a trilogy of street-fighting games. A gang of thugs has kidnapped the hero’s girlfriend, and he goes off to rescue her, punching and kicking dozens of guys (and a few gals).
Notable features: some enemies use weapons you can grab (bats, knives). Certain elements of the environment can also be thrown at anyone (barrels, rocks).
A juicy bit is that in two-player mode, after cooperating (or not) throughout the game, and as soon as the final boss is defeated, our two heroes, Billy and Jimmy, start beating each other up in front of their tied-up girlfriend to decide who’ll be the loser of her heart!
If you ask me, they’re too good for her anyway…

I suggest two modern takes; light and parody-filled: River City Girls (2019) or as grimy as it gets: Mother Russia Bleeds (2016).
