You command a small squad of cartoon soldiers deep in enemy territory, aiming and firing through a crosshair. Yes, you guessed it—most missions revolve around gunning down anything that moves and blowing up enemy barracks. Occasionally, you’ll get slightly more nuanced objectives like protecting civilians, freeing hostages, or abducting enemy officers. Your starting kit includes machine guns with unlimited ammo, but grenades and bazookas soon join the party. Some levels even throw in vehicles for you to commandeer (jeeps, tanks, helicopters).

Each mission is split into a variable number of stages, though, annoyingly, you can’t save between them. The early levels are a cakewalk, but the difficulty ramps up sharply, becoming downright impossible by the halfway point. Luck plays a far bigger role than strategy, in my opinion. It’s a fun game—demanding and utterly exasperating in equal measure.
