A very popular game in its heyday in the arcade halls. You drive a buggy across one of the five tracks available, with the clock as your only opponent.
All sorts of obstacles block your path: signs, trees, rocks, streams, and plenty of bonuses in the form of slalom gates (to pass through) or small coloured flags (to collect). It’s simple, fast, and easy to control—the perfect recipe for addiction.
The Amiga conversion is fairly well done, but if you’re going to play it again on an emulator, you might as well emulate the arcade version. Just be sure to lower the controller/keyboard sensitivity, otherwise, you’ll be driving a bar of soap (the original was played with a steering wheel).
If you like this kind of game, I recommend Out Run (arcade version, obviously).
