This 1988 arcade game, popularised on the Sega Genesis console, was also adapted for the Atari ST, and later the Amiga (typically from the Atari ST version, as often happens). The result, of course, is far below the capabilities of the Commodore machine—less colourful, slower, devoid of differential scrolling, and missing most of the digitised voices. A familiar frustration for Amiga owners. Today, you can find this game on arcade emulator; or on PlayStation 2 (2005) for a good laugh.

The adventure takes place in ancient Greece. An ancient centurion is resurrected by Zeus to rescue Athena from the clutches of a demonic sorcerer…

Fat as a stork’s tibia when emerging from its tomb, your character becomes stronger as he collects bonuses, progressing through different stages of muscle development before transforming into an enraged monster (zombie were-wolf/dragon/bear/tiger, to be precise) capable of defeating the level’s end boss.

A simple, entertaining, and educational title, particularly for its visual representation of mythology … notably, the giant eye-spitting watermelon in level 2.
